Operation Sarre September 1939

Postby DaveC » Tue Jul 06, 2010 12:58 pm

The Massif's Bovington Game for 2010 was based on the actions of 126RI of 23 DI as they crossed the Franco-German Border.

Contact - German troops fired a couple of times then withdrew. Note the disguised bunker on the Customs post & the antitank gate. We also had a maginot line fort which gooded great but I missed

More for the benefit of those who take the view that the French were militarily incapable French POWs in Kappellenhof.

The Game was played from scratch each day. In both cases the French were able to advance effectively. Not caught by my camera on Saturday the GRDI's motorcycle company advanced to a border post which they set fire to before withdrawing.

Tony, I was lemoned into taking my daughter to see the latest vampire pic in Bath and just as we were approaching the carpark the girl with her threw up all over herself in the back of my car ! We got her cleaned up and took her home but lost out on the tickets which being pre-booked are non-everything ! MY daughter then spent the entire day Saturday in a"huff" and I ended up having to take her to see the bleeding film on Sunday. I leave out the details of vomit/stink removal from my car in deference to the more delicate amongst us.

Excellent game, it was nice to see it at Bovington and I
enjoyed talking to you all.
Think I will have to use some teddy bear hair for a modelling project.
Now I wonder if my grand daughters would miss one or 2 teddy bears :?:

Poor you Alan - you could have got 5 tank kits or 3 decent books for the price of that popcorn!
